Mount joins Manchester United

Manchester United officially announced the signing of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount. The two parties signed a contract until June 2028, and the contract includes an additional clause for a one-year extension.

According to previous news, Manchester United will pay £55 million plus a floating clause of £5 million to sign Mount. Among them, the trigger condition of the floating clause of 5 million pounds is whether to win the championship trophy.

Mount was born in 1999 and made his debut in Chelsea's youth training. He has been playing for the Blues since joining Chelsea's youth training in 2005. He was previously loaned to Waiters and Derby County for training. So far he has played 195 games for the Blues, contributing 33 goals and 37 assists. He originally had one year left in his contract with Chelsea.

The Champions League winner won Chelsea's Player of the Year twice in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons. In addition, he has also played 36 games for the England representative team and played an important role in the process of England reaching the European Cup final in 2021.
