Joselu sends Spain to second successive #NationsLeague final
Joselu scored a late winner to send Spain to a second successive UEFA Nations League final. Spain came from behind to beat Italy 2-1 in Enschede, Netherlands.
Italy took the lead in the 25th minute through Ciro Immobile, but Spain equalized through Ferran Torres in the 56th minute. Joselu then scored the winner in the 89th minute to send Spain to the final.
Spain will face Croatia in the final on Sunday. Croatia beat Portugal 1-0 in the other semi-final.
This is Spain's third Nations League final appearance. They lost to France in the inaugural final in 2019, but they will be hoping to win the trophy for the first time this year.
Joselu's goal was his first for Spain since 2017. He has been in good form for Newcastle United this season, scoring 12 goals in 27 appearances.
Spain's victory over Italy was their first over the Azzurri since 2012. It was also their first victory in a competitive match since they won the 2019 Nations League.
Spain's performance against Italy was a good indication of their progress under Luis Enrique. They have been playing some excellent football in recent months, and they will be confident of winning the Nations League final on Sunday.
